The Bicycle Clinic @Parking Day 19 September

As part of PARK(ing) Day we’ll be running a free Bicycle Clinic on Molesworth Street from 10am to 5pm on Friday the 19th September. Qualified mechanics from the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun will be on hand to do a check up on essential features of your bicycle. And if your bicycle passes the test you’ll get a free set of LED bike lights! There’ll be some nibbles from Cornucopia while you wait. Get there early before they are all gone!

We’ll have volunteers from the Cycling Campaign on the stand to tell you about the campaign and what it is doing to transform Dublin into a cycling friendly city. If you have an hour or two to spare and you would like to help out, drop us an email to info@dublincycling.ie. A garda from Donnybrook station will be on hand to register bicycles. This helps the Gardai identify stolen bicycles and reunite them with their owners.

PARK(ing) Day is an annual world-wide event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered car parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public parks. In Dublin it is supported by Dublin City Council who provide the parking spaces for free. The Dublin Cycling Campaign has been an active supporter of the city’s PARK(ing) Day for three years now.

So if you are in the city centre drop by Molesworth St. with your bicycle for a quick free check-up and some refuelling, or just to have a chat and find out more about the Campaign!
