Bicycle Space at Electric Picnic - Creative Type Sought!

For the eighth year in a row, the Amazing Bicycle Zone is back at Electric Picnic, right in the heart of Global Green!

The space is curated by Dublin Cycling Campaign in collaboration with Cyclist.ie, Cork Cycling Festival, Greenschools Bicycle People and the fantabulous Goldsprints DJs & Bicycle Roller Racing. Sculptor Mick Davis will also be part of our collective displaying his fab works created from recycled bicycle tubes and tyres.

This year we are celebrating how the bicycle helps to deliver on 11 of the UN’s 17 Global Goals (above) - more detail as per the European Cyclists’ Federation document here. These include how bicycles and everyday cycling can: tackle poverty, improve public health, enhance the energy efficiency of transport systems, make cities/settlements safe and sustainable etc.

We’re calling out for someone to join our crew to help us convey, in a festival friendly way, how cycling delivers on those Global Goals - and generally to add more creativity, colour and craic to our bicycle space! The ideal person will help develop/finalise our initial concept(s) and will direct/assist us in creating/building/realising the concept. Most importantly, we’re seeking someone who ‘gets’ what we’re about in the Cycling Campaign and loves festivals!

If you are this creative person and want to avail of an EP ticket and be part of our crew, please drop us a line ASAP explaining why and indicating how you can help out. Please email: info[at]dublincycling.ie and damodublin[at]hotmail.com (ideally by Monday night 22nd August or as soon afterwards as possible). Look forward to hearing from you soon!
