Citizens' Assembly - Let Them Know Climate Action Matters

One of the key messages from the ‘Dinner with Darwin’ event held on Saturday was that we need more people to drop a line to the Citizens’ Assembly stressing that action on climate is urgently required.

There was a great turn-out on the day in Dartmouth Square, Ranelagh, with many of those attending dropping by Dublin Cycling Campaign’s space to say hello and to find out what we were up to. As well as chatting to people about our own bicycle friendly vision of Dublin, we also spoke about the urgent need for this government to take climate change seriously and to address the ever growing carbon emissions from transport.

We would urge everyone to take a few minutes to gather their thoughts and then make even a brief submission to the Citizens’ Assembly on how the state can make Ireland a leader in tackling climate change. It is all explained very clearly on this webpage of Stop Climate Chaos (of which Dublin Cycling Campaign / Cyclist.ie is a member). Note the deadline of the 11th of August.

A sincere thanks to all of the crew from Stop Climate Chaos for organising both a very enjoyable day and an important event in raising awareness about government inaction on climate.
