Dublin City is reviewing its taxi stand bye-law arrangements and it is open to public consultation

A discussion document has been published:

Dublin Cycling Campaign will be making a submission.

The following issues come to mind.

(1) why are Garda/DSPS/Traffic Wardens failing to deal properly with ‘pop-up’/unofficial taxi stands?

(2) why are taxi numbers at many recognised stands exceeding the permitted numbers and overspilling into cycle lanes/tracks?

(3) the ‘dooring’ hazard presented to cyclists by careless opening of taxi doors

(4) the illegal stopping by taxis in cycle tracks marked by a continuous white line (mandatory use type).

Is this sufficient?
