The Campaign held a Table Quiz on January 15 in the Mansion House. A ring around to everyone on the membership list and to friends and relations produced enough support for there to be twenty three tables – about twice the number the organisers were prepared for. A brief period of chaos was followed by a lively quiz – with a great deal of insubordination from the floor, it has to be said – as people tried to remember the name of the sixteenth president of the United States, or identify a Very Loud Noise which the cognoscenti recognised as a more obscure track from an early Genesis album.
When the money was counted we found that we’d made a net profit of £450. This money makes our entry into the St Patrick’s Day Parade possible. Many thanks to everyone for your support.
