Earthwatch and LUAS
Earthwatch Dublin are trying to rescue LUAS as public transport initiative. It argues that a coordinated campaign of public pressure is necessary if this strand of the DTI is to be implemented. The future of improved public transport in Dublin, and especially LUAS, will look very bleak if the EU withdraws the promised funding - which it may do because of the lack of progress in building LUAS. Earthwatch therefore appeals to everyone who is concerned about the traffic jams, the political lethargy and the threat of missing the deadline for EU funding to join its campaign to save LUAS.
