Lobbying- Aim at your Target

Firstly, you need to identify your target. Who is most likely to be in a position to change things for you? This will determine if your letter/email submission is directed at a single body or individual or if it goes to others (such as opposition transport spokersersons, all the local councillors in your ward or county, all the TDs in the parliament, etc.). Indeed it may have to include some or all of these bodies.

You need the name and title of the official or body. Google it if necessary. Email addresss of politicians (national and local) or officials can be got from web-sites (see www.dublincity.ie www.oireachtas.ie etc). Some like to 'hide' so that you can't bother them but you can generally deduce their email address once you know the domain name.

It is better in any event to write a formal letter to make a complaint or lobby for change. Email, although instant, does not have the same formality as a letter.
