Promotion and Education
Turning Dublin into a top cycling city isn’t just about building more cycle lanes. In fact, if we can encourage more people to cycle, it will make the city safer for all road users and have a natural traffic calming effect. This is where cycling promotion comes in: to show people how safe and pleasant it can be to cycle in Dublin. Yes there is room for improvement in cycling infrastructure, but many people travelling short distances around the city can easily switch to cycling and reap the health, time, and stress reduction benefits.
Our cycling promotion activities include monthly meetings with invited guest speakers, social cycles and taking part in events such as National Bike Week, Electric Picnic and other festivals.
