UPDATE: The National Transport Authority (NTA) applied to An Bord Pleanala for approval of the CBC 12 Templeogue/Rathfarnham to City Centre scheme.

We support this project in principle. If the network of BusConnects cycle routes was completed it would really help create a joined-up network for cycle traffic in Dublin. But people will only use their bikes regularly when there are safe tracks, separated from motorists for their whole journey – not the disconnected bits we have now. The ‘network effect’, where routes start to get joined up, is likely to bring a massive uptake in cycling, right across Dublin. However there are some flaws in the designs that we listed in our submission. See our previous article for these. We thank all members of the campaign who made individual submissions.
