Kiwi public support cycling after tragedy

A recent mulitiple-fatality cycling accident in Auckland has failed to dampen Kiwis' enthusiasm for this mode of transport, according to a new survey conducted recently.

47.6 per cent believed roads and transport strategies should be focused on getting more people out of four-wheeled vehicles and on to two wheels, while an overwhelming 85.2 per cent agreed with a proposition that NZ cities should be cycle-friendly, like Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Melbourne or Sydney.
