Blooming Success for Cycling at Bord Bia Bloom 2025
Dublin Cycling Campaign was delighted to once again support cycling to Bord Bia Bloom in the Phoenix Park, with a strong presence over the five-day festival from 29 May to 2 June. Thanks to the incredible efforts of nearly 40 volunteers, we welcomed over 1,600 cyclists to the event, including many families with young children travelling by bike. Our team provided assistance and a warm welcome at our supervised bike parks, helping visitors find secure parking and enjoy the festival with peace of mind.
This year, we partnered with Healthy Ireland, the sponsor of the bike park, to promote the message that cycling is a simple and effective way to build physical activity into your daily routine. Throughout the event, our volunteers engaged with attendees to highlight the many benefits of cycling—for personal health, community well-being, and the environment. We also welcomed the opportunity to engage with Minister Jennifer Murnane O’Connor, who visited the bike park during the festival. It was a valuable chance to discuss the role of cycling in promoting public health and sustainable transport, and to share the positive impact of cycling initiatives like this one.
“Sustainability is central to Bord Bia Bloom, and cycling fits perfectly into that ethos,” said Siobhán McNamara, Dublin Cycling Campaign vice-chair. “We were thrilled to see so many people choosing to cycle to the event, and we’re grateful to our volunteers and to Healthy Ireland for helping us make it all possible.”
