The page describes how the Dublin Cycling Campaign collects, processes, protects and manages personal data.
When a person signs-up to be a member of the campaign they are asked for a small number of personal details (name, address, email, phone). These details are held in a membership database. This data is kept so that members can be contacted to notify them of campaign activities, and when their membership is up for renewal. Data for lapsed members is deleted after 2 years.
Access to the membership database is restricted to a small number of authorised officers, via strict access control.
The membership data includes details of membership payments made. It does not include details of bank account or credit card numbers. These are held by Paypal, for those who opt to pay by Paypal, or by the relevant bank for those who opt to pay by standing order.
The campaign has email mailing lists for its newsletter and for contacting active volunteers. Members of these lists can unsubscribe at any stage. Contact details of active volunteers are shared with other volunteers in order to organise campaigns and events.
The campaign does not transfer personal data to third parties, e.g. for marketing purposes.
Members can request a copy of their personal data, free of charge. A response will be provided within one month in electronic form, unless otherwise requested. If a member’s personal data is incorrect they can ask for it to be corrected. They can also request that their data is deleted. All of these requests should be sent to email@example.com.
