Cycling Ireland Newsletter - Who Really Owns the Road!?

Cycling Ireland is the national governing body for the sport of cycling, in Ireland. For the first time, in its current strategic plan, Cycling Advocacy is promoted, as one of Cycling Ireland’s 6 strategic pillars, with the aim of promoting cycling as a safe and enjoyable recreational and transport activity.

Cycling Ireland has just this year also partnered with Dublin Cycling Campaign and Cyclist.ie, the umbrella Irish Cycling Advocacy Network to promote and advocate for cycling, and help to make cycling an everyday mode of transport. Some of the fruits of this partnership can be seen in a headline article in its latest Braking News newsletter on common arguments by anti-cycling commentators. The article uses our recent poster for our very successful Cycling Funding Protest, but also, very much tongue in cheek, lists many of those common anti cycling epithets thrown out by commentators on radio and in the media!
