DLR Central Update (26 Nov 2025)

The construction of the DLR Central – Active Travel Scheme is continuing at a good pace.

The junction at Bakers Avenue on Kill Avenue is fully operational, with links to the bike lanes on Pottery Road and Deansgrange Road.

Kill Avenue is nearly there (see picture above with the finished surface) is approx 90% complete. This provides connectivity to the council’s (Active School Travel Network), specifically the Metals to Mountain and Park to Park routes.

Construction on Glenageary Road Upper is well under way (see images above with the bike lane under construction). The expectation is that the works will be completed as far as the crossroads with Cualanor and Maypark Ave in December then with a pause for Christmas. The rain gardens between bike land and motor traffic will make a huge difference.

Cycling through Cualanor would bring you to Tivoli Road where the DLR Living Streets scheme is approved and planned. A cycle network is starting to come to fruition in DLR!
