Sandyford Cycle Scheme

We have made this submission to DLR council on the recent scheme to redesign for cycling along the Drummartin Link Road.

We think the design is not going to have the benefit of increasing the number of people cycling due to the complexity of the junctions that remain. We want to see cycling infrastructure that is accessible and useable for all kinds of cyclists. The use of two way off road cycling is welcomed, but there are some flaws in the design proposed.

We think that this is a seriously compromised design that restricts cycling movements too much in favour or keeping motor traffic movements as a priority.
