Cycle to the Dail

Wednesday, 15 May 2019 - 5:15pm
Merrion Sq West (opposite National Gallery of Ireland)

A major protest cycle will take place on Wednesday 15th May just before the May local and European elections (taking place on the 24th of May).

The goal of this protest is to remind all election candidates that cyclists are voters and that we will vote in our droves for candidates serious about bringing about a positive change in transport policy with the bicycle at the fore! The Councillors and Members of the European Parliament we elect will be in power for the next five years, so it is important that those elected are au fait with the demands of cyclists. On this point, do check out the ECF’s Manifesto for the European Elections which outlines clearly what we are seeking from EP candidates.

The meeting point for the cycle is Merrion Square West opposite the National Gallery of Ireland. We will be meeting from 5.15pm. We aim to arrive at the Dáil just before 6pm on the Wednesday evening.
