Cancellation Notice: January Liffey Cycle

We regret to announce that our monthly Liffey Cycle, which was scheduled to take place on Sunday 13th January at 11am, is now cancelled.

The decision to cancel tomorrow’s event was made on safety grounds due to a lack of available experienced marshals and a specific notification from An Garda Síochána that no Gardaí would be available to support the event.

The Liffey Cycle is a family-friendly group cycle along Dublin’s Quays which takes place on the second Sunday of every month. The cycle highlights the need for safe cycling infrastructure along the Quays and across Dublin City. The Liffey Cycle Route, which was first proposed in 2011, has yet to progress beyond the design phase.

The next Liffey Cycle will go ahead as planned on Sunday 10th February.

Dublin Cycling Campaign’s next event will be our public meeting on Monday 14th January at 7pm in the Central Hotel on Exchequer Street. The meeting will use the “World Café” format where people can move between different tables discussing various projects that the cycling campaign is working on, including the Liffey Cycle.
