Grand Canal Greenway cycle

Irish Cycling Campaign members and Dublin Cycling Campaign are celebrating the completion of the Grand Canal Greenway from Adamstown Co. Dublin to Hazelhatch Co Kildare. (approx 4 km)

It was the final missing link on the Grand Canal Greenway from Dublin to the Shannon and Dublin Cycling Campaign have been campaigning to have this section finished for over 10 years.

To celebrate the completion we are organising a cycling event on Sunday 12 April. The cycle is approx 30 km long from starting point to return.

The starting point is the Waterside Pub, Clondalkin (at the 9th lock) at 12 noon. From there we’ll cycle to Arthur Guinness’s grave at Oughterard Graveyard, Kildare. There is parking at the Waterside Pub for members who which to drive to the start. The route is mostly flat.

Refreshments will be provided during the event.

Please bring a friend if you so wish.

Unfortunately the route is not suitable for children and cargo bikes.
