Join Us for the Huge range of events organised by Dublin Cycling Campaign

National Bike Week [www.bikeweek.ie] takes place from the 9th-17th June this year with the aim of getting more people using their bikes and raising the profile of cycling in Irish society. This year Dublin Cycling Campaign has again put together a packed schedule of events and we really think there’s something in there for everyone!

So this Bike Week, get on your bike and join us, or even help us out, at one or more of our many events - Details to follow on www.bikeweek.ie:

  • Saturday 9th June - Community Garden Cycle: Two bike tours, one Northside, one Southside, visiting some of Dublin’s “hidden” community gardens, and meeting together at Drimnagh Castle for a joint celebration and picnic!

  • Sunday 10th June - Liffey Cycle: Mass cycle along the Liffey Quays to demonstrate support for the Liffey Cycle Route.

  • Monday 11th June - Movie Night: We’ll be showing the excellent documentary ‘Why We Cycle’ in Dublin’s Wood Quay venue, which gives a fascinating insight into Dutch cycling culture.

  • Tuesday-Friday 12-15th June - Phoenix Park Cycle Tours: A different cycle tour each evening, guided by Park rangers and guides, giving an insight into the history, wildlife and biodiversity of the Phoenix Park

  • Saturday 16th June - Dublin Cycling Campaign stall at Smithfield Street Velodrome - we need helpers to person our stall and promote cycling in Dublin!

  • Sunday 17th June - Freedom Machine Bike to Bikefest! - A continuation of our theme from the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, this cycle celebrates the role of the bicycle in the emancipation of women. The cycle will run along the safe and segregated Clontarf Greenway from Fairview to St Anne’s Park, to join in the festivities at Cycling Ireland’s BikeFest Day!

  • 8th to 29th June - Cycling Photo Exhibition: Dublin City Council’s Civic Offices will host an exhibition of everyday cycling photos throughout the month of June, so make sure to call in when you can, and tell your friends about it!

We’ll be publishing further details on each of the events in the coming days so stay tuned, and check out all Bikeweek Events on www.bikeweek.ie for up to date information!

If you’d like to help out at any of our events (and we always need help!) please send an email to info@dublincycling.com and let us know your availability.
